Our intent was to showcase best-in-class optical engineering while creating a uniquely marketable entry for the architectural lighting sector. So we started the project with a dream: was it possible to create a light completely free of glare?

Working backwards from this lofty goal in close collaboration with optical physicists, we concealed an LED light source above a finely-tuned quartz cylinder, shaped to refract light downward without letting it escape. The result is strikingly new and speaks to the future of LED lighting design, founded not in aesthetics, but in physics. Vessel is a first-of-kind pendant that was engineered completely from the 'perfect light throw'. It casts a supremely balanced and even light, emanating from a beautiful, essentialist object purpose-formed to guide the light toward its intended surface.
